  • What is your cancellation policy?

    A $100 deposit is required to save a spot on a trip. You can cancel up to 30 days before to receive your deposit back. After 30 days, you forfeit your deposit.

    7 days prior to trip: full refund, except deposit. Within 7 days of trip: No refund

    Cancellations due to a positive COVID test will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule. Proof of a positive test result from your doctor is required to receive refund.

  • Do you have any COVID requirements/restrictions?

    If you are not feeling well, we strongly recommend cancelling or rescheduling your trip.

    Masks are not required in vehicles unless you request it.

  • Can I Bring My Dog?

    While hiking with your dog adds an element of fun. However, please leave your 4-legged companion at home. Canine friends who are not used to hiking are at risk of injury, exhaustion and collapse.

  • What if its raining or there are poor conditions?

    Trips will still go on as planned even if its raining. Rain gear including rain pants, rain jacket/poncho are highly recommended. In the event that a thunderstorm is rolling in, the group may have to wait for the threat of lightening to pass. We will not travel above tree line in the event of a thunderstorm.

  • I have dietary restrictions, can you accomodate?

    Absolutely! Please fill out the dietary restriction portion when booking your trip. We can accommodate vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free and any other combination.

  • What Should I Pack?

    This will vary per individual but keep in mind that whatever you decide to bring, you will have to carry yourself.

  • How do I prepare for elevation?

    If you don’t live at elevation, this will be one of the most diffucult things about the trip.

    If you are concerned about elevation, we recommend getting to Colorado a few days before your trip to allow acclimation to the elevation. Make sure to drink a lot of water. Tylenol and Ibuprofen can also help.

  • How to I prepare to hike with a pack?

    Pack weight will typically comes in around 25-30 pounds. Going for walks with a weighed backpack can often help you prepare. Try going for a 2-3 mile walk a few times a week for a month before your trip with a 10lb bag of rice in a backpack. Building up leg strength will also help.

  • Do you allow men on your trips?

    STWA offers women only trips. This means that your husband, boyfriend, friend is not allowed to come. Our company is designed to offer women the opportunity to learn with other women in a safe and supportive environment.

    No boys allowed!!
